Another interesting podcast. Particularly liked hearing about how people are using robotics in nursing homes in Japan. A few points especially got me thinking:
This line “In the US we’re very good at spotting opportunities to tech but not so much at dealing with the consequences”…
In the context of using co-bots in nursing homes to monitor/ assist night nurses - “it reduces long working hours (and wages as a consequence) but might not necessarily be a welfare loss” I would like to further investigate this with the actual night nurses they are referring to…
When referring to new technologies that aren’t authorised/legal in the US “It’s hard to identify what regulations are getting in the way”
