Molly Lewis
Product Design Manager at Accenture Song
I am a passionate designer that loves to solve complex problems. I am a product design lead for a consultancy but have been working for an automotive company for the last 2 years. I'm an early bird that loves running and coffee. I get genuinely inspired by those who are motivated and passionate about solving world problems.

Michael Oakley
Chiropractor
I am a practicing Chiropractor of 34 years in Manly, Sydney. I have a love for philosophy, and a continual search for understanding of how and why things happen in this world of ours. I enjoy helping people to see that whatever their current state of health, it is an opportunity for self awareness and growth and the greatest reward is to witness the progression from a somewhat victim mentality ( material reductionism ) to a position of agency ( Noble, Frankel ) and confidence and trust in themselves.

Prasidhi Satpathy
B.Sc. Economics
I am From India, currently a completely broke college student wanting to explore psychology, philosophy and Indian society. I hate mugging up what we are taught in schools and colleges. I am kind of both night owl and early bird. I love black coffee.

Beverly Dupree
Programme Officer at Cinnabar Foundation
I’m from Missoula, Montana, where I work as a programme officer for a statewide conservation foundation. I’m a seasoned conservation advocate who cares deeply about connecting people with the places, rivers, and wildlife that shape our world, and I love the work of building teams and strategies to protect them. Outside of work, I’m a volunteer DJ and yoga teacher, and I fill my cup through time in nature and anything to do with music. I’ve also just learnt how to make matcha at home and I’m really digging it.

Josephine MacMillan
Corporate Lawyer at Origin Energy
Originally from Brisbane, after stints in Hong Kong and China, I've been living and working in Sydney for seven years. I work as an in-house as lawyer for an energy company and enjoy supporting new energy technology projects and partnerships. Further study alongside work has seen me become a very active night owl at times. When I need energy or inspiration, I love getting to the beach or visiting art galleries with friends and family.

Alicia Vaughan
Government Policy Officer
I'm an Australian currently living in Brussels, Belgium. I grew up in the countryside and have embraced city life for the career opportunities but my heart is happiest in nature. This is how I regenerate when I'm running low, if not through music. As for my job, I mostly love the people. Even when progress is slow or the work is riddled with obstacles, my colleagues are really creative and perceptive, so I'm always getting exposed to new ideas (and humour!). I'm naturally a night owl but a perpetually-aspiring early bird!

Jeanne Ogilvie
Founder of Think & Think Again,
Service Designer at Deloitte Digital
I'm from France, currently living in Sydney. Working on projects with a real social impact in the Not-for-Profit or Health space is what I love most in work. Early bird. Nothing makes me feel inspired and energised like learning something new and connecting with people at a deeper level.

Christian Bailey
Founder, Inventor, Lifelong student
I live in Palo Alto and I'm an inventor and a lifelong learner. I love that I get to work with startups that I've chosen. Currently all in aviation. I'm an early bird, waking up at 5:30 every morning. Jeffersonian dinner parties, carefully curated events, skiing, and flying fill my cup!

Chris Heuer
Managing Director at Team Flow Institute
AI + Human collaboration
I’m a serial entrepreneur exploring how human-centered AI and team flow help groups work better together and turn friction into momentum. Currently living in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, I spend a lot of time down in Silicon Valley. Having founded a community organisation that reached 350 cities worldwide in 2009, I am a fierce advocate for co-elevation, seeking new ways to connect and lift humanity.

Himanshu Bhavsar
Chief People Officer
I am born and raised in a city called Udaipur, in India, and did my education from IIT Bomday , in chemical engineering. My work journey started as chemcial engineer responsible to plant operations, moved up the ladder working with founder office, building system strategy capabilty for building manufacturing excellence, and eventually moved to lead HR. Currently working as Chief people officer, for a startup based out of mumbai, with mission to democratise healthcare by generic focus pharmacy retail.
What i love most about my job is that I get to impact leadership aspects of people leading (not just impacting them but also family member).
I'm a night owl, trying to be a early bird.

Oli Cavanagh
Part-time dad/house husband, crypto investor
I'm from Bristol, England, currently living in Sydney. I love the balance of my weekly schedule and needing to learn about the world/human psychology to inform my investment decisions. Night Owl. Going cycling in the National Park is what fills my cup.

Selena Tatum Isles
Analyst | Doctoral Researcher | Founder, The Empathy Lab
I'm from Montreal and Princes Town, Trinidad — not in equal measure, and yet it makes complete sense.
The body carries both, and I've stopped trying to resolve the ratio. By day I'm a Quality Analyst at a global financial institution. By ongoing compulsion, I'm a doctoral researcher building a companion book to my thesis — taking dense concepts from systems architecture and organizational friction and handing them to people in language they can actually use. What I love most about that work is the translation: finding the plain-language door into a complicated room and holding it open. Mid Morning Early bird. Reluctantly, joyfully, completely. What fills my cup right now is presence. A radical self-rediscovery that has deliberately shed the labels and the markers — the credentials, the titles, the roles. I'm exploring life as a ritual of self-realization. The most generative thing I can do, I've found, is show up fully to what is actually happening — in this body, in this moment.

Max Delplanque
Design & Brand Transformation
I was born in the north of France, grew up in Paris, and found my footing in Sydney. I’ve moved around a lot. It’s just part of who I am. Home isn’t one place anymore. It’s wherever the people I care about are. Friends and family are spread across the world... I spent over 13 years In Sydney and it feels the most like home. I’m now in London where my wife's originally from. What I enjoy most about my work is being able to stay curious. I get to ask questions, dig into ideas, and tell stories... The best feeling is when something that started as a simple thought turns into something real. Something that works. That people connect with. I used to be a night owl. Now I’m up early thanks to my two little boys. Morning walks with a coffee have become my go-to. That’s when things click. It’s quiet, the brain is warming up, and ideas come through. I talk to people when in need of a reset. Not just friends or coworkers. Anyone. Uber drivers, baristas, strangers. The best conversations are the ones you don’t plan and the ones with people you wouldn't usually connect with on an everyday basis. Sometimes they’re funny, sometimes deep, sometimes just unexpected (good or bad). They always give me something. That’s what fills me back up. Real chats and presence.

Gigi Foster
Professor at UNSW
I am American (born in Pittsburgh PA) and have lived in Australia for 20+ years. I have two grown children (who were raised Australian), one of whom now lives in the US and the other in Europe. I am an economics professor and i love being able to choose what i work on and to speak my opinions freely on all manner of economic research and policy topics with the press and the wider community. I love being credibly independent and i love teaching. I am more an early bird than a night owl but really i love sleep so i try to get lots of it on each end. For relaxation i love running (i have run two marathons) and spending time discussing interesting things with family and friends.

Sean Robertson
Healthcare Assistant
Born Canadian. I have had the good fortune to collaborate with many cultures through work around the world. I’ve always loved learning about people and their missions, and in my professional work I am at my best when understanding, strategizing, and solving problems. My background is hard sciences and I have traced a path through human health and life sciences, both working with sick people directly and advancing causes and companies that improve life through reducing the burden of disease. It has also been my pleasure to be an avid reader, and to be both a keen student of history and a consumer of fiction. I very much believe in the saying that “a reader lives a thousand lives” and believe there are lessons in both history and fantasia. My personal mission is to help people live healthier for longer, through prevention and proactive health. I am on a quest to build organizations and structures that extend “healthspan”. I know what it is like to lose family members too early and am passionate about preventing that in other families as well as my own. I stay whole and fill my cup through exercise and sport. I believe (and the evidence shows) that movement is medicine. I am guilty of being an uninvited health coach from time to time! I have coached sports teams, individual athletes, and professionals from the sales floor to private sector executives.

Ricky Jones
Retired Physician & Medical Educator
I am a recently retired specialist chest physician and medical educator. I continue to teach undergraduate students once a week. I have additional postgraduate degrees in law, ethics and education. I have a wide range of hobbies including a love of being in natural environments, nature photography, classical music, serious fiction and non-fiction and philosophy. I have practised stoicism for many years with varying degrees of success and have a creature of the elements of Taoism and Buddhism over the years.

Anne Jackson
Abstract Oil Painter
I am a painter of meditative abstract artworks with a deep love of colour, an avid reader/traveller/thinker, and former elementary teacher. More of a night owl than an early bird. What fills my cup besides painting and delving into all things colour and art history, is being active outdoors, walking/cycling/hiking/x-country skiing, listening to podcasts, and sharing time and conversation with friends and family. I love going to art galleries and classical music concerts and occasionally create beautiful sounds on my harp. Originally from Toronto, now happy to live closer to rural areas outside of the city.

Gail Maskiell
Former Lawyer, Avid Hiker & Lifelong Learner
I live in Brisbane Australia and am a retired lawyer. I am adjusting to seismic changes in my world. As a lawyer I most loved working in resolving conflict. I have taken up hiking in recent years to move more in nature & remote landscapes & I am a water lover; rivers, beaches, oceans & snow. I am an early bird. To fill my cup I read, listen to radio & podcasts & listen to an eclectic range of music.

Jeremy Meltzer
Founder & CEO, i=Change
I'm Founder and CEO of i=Change, a tech platform that makes it simple and valuable for businesses to give back, with a focus on empowering women and girls. While my job is challenging - as I have to wear many hats - I'm very proud of the impact we're making for people and planet. What fills my cup is that we are looking across the horizon to build a new model of business, one that normalises product, promotion and purpose.

Merry Sawdey
Typesetter, writer, book artist,
life enthusiast
I live in the woods, on a river outside a small town in Minnesota about 1/2 hour south of the Twin Cities. I'm of retirement age but I don't consider myself retired, more between gigs. I love to be up in the morning, I usually write, paint, collage, or sew. I also make books and write poetry. I read a lot - so much interesting thoughts and ideas out there and I'd love a place to talk more about them. I love discussing things deeply and thoughtfully, with kindness toward my conversational partners. I love synthesizing seemingly unrelated ideas and fields to see freshly. My favorite work of my crazy quilt of jobs: I'm a certified spiritual companion and taught music and movement to young children and their families for 11 years.

Milly Haddrick
Digital Producer at Virgin
I am from Sydney Australia. The thing I love most about my job is the people (they are genuinely some of my closest friends outside of work) I am 10000% an early bird and cannot stay up past 10.30 and I write, research, read and walk to fill up my cup - all while being in solitude.

Shury Yamagami
Commercial Manager at Equinix
Singaporean mum, Japanese dad, Australian spouse , I am a proper cultural blend. By day I get to work with brilliant people across the globe in the data centre industry, watching AI rewrite the rules of infrastructure. By evening, it’s all about the little ones. Simple moments, full heart.

Anita Planchon
Executive Director, Office of the Secretary, Tasmanian Department of Health
I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and lived and worked in Canberra, France, Vietnam, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia before settling in Hobart, Tasmania, where I’ve lived since 2012. I work for the Tasmanian Department of Health and love that my work is helping to address the huge challenges of healthcare in Tasmania, where we have a small, geographically dispersed and aging population. I used to be a night owl but at this stage in my life (I am 52) I find that I like to go to bed early and get up very early. Cold water ocean swimming, mainly off Kingston Beach in southern Tasmania, fills my cup, along with my two teenage kids, dance, theatre, trying to learn the double bass, and having meaningful conversations with lovely friends.

Paul Davies
Artist - Painting, photography, sculpture
I’m an Australian artist (painter), husband and father of two (in no particular order!) based in Sydney. What I love most about my work is the way it opens doors: to travel, to new places, and to meeting people from all walks of life. Those experiences feed my creativity and constantly shape the way I see the world. I’m very much an early bird (I always have been, but even more so since having kids). I recharge my batteries through the simple things: an ocean swim, a good coffee, and time spent with my family.

Lani Beer
Transformation & AI Facilitator
I'm originally from the UK, now proudly calling Melbourne home. I work as a Transformation & AI Facilitator which basically means I help organisations navigate the messy, exciting, deeply human work of changing how they operate, especially when AI is involved. What I love most is that moment when someone's eyes light up because a concept that felt abstract and intimidating suddenly clicks, often because of a good metaphor or a well-crafted question. I believe ideas need tending, not just generating, and I get to do that for a living.
I'm unashamedly an early bird. My mornings often start with movement, a walk, a run, or Pilates and that quiet, intentional start to the day sets the tone for everything that follows.
To fill my cup? I travel whenever I can (there's nothing like new places to refresh your thinking), I spend time with my husband John and the various dogs we look after through house-sitting, and I love the kind of deep conversations that leave you slightly changed afterwards.

Isabella Newell
Head of Digital, Information & Data Legal for Asia Pacific at UBS
I was born in Brisbane, spent five years working in London and have been living in Sydney for the last three years.
I love that in my job I get to help shape the future.
I am neither an early bird nor a night owl, but with a young baby I tend to be up pretty early.
Cup filling for me is going to a beautiful restaurant for lunch or dinner with one or two close friends.

Hank Whittier
Geotechnical Engineer
I am from a small mountain community in Central California. I work in geotechnical engineering and enjoy being outdoors, approaching problems from a scientific perspective and applying physics and engineering principles. Usually we solve very practical, perplexing problems at a very basic level because we are helping people that build with earth and soil. I am not a night owl but I ironically get large streaks of creativity late at night. Because of my age of 66, I tend to Peter out quickly. I am a Christ follower and I usually fill my cup, so to speak, through reading my Bible and helping brothers and sisters in need. I am a very independent thinker and enjoy the premise of this platform, while I do not know much about it, it has me very curious.

Tom Rethaller
Tech Lead | Creative Dev | Tech Art
I grew up in France, betrayed it for Copenhagen and then London, came back to Bordeaux after 6 years.
I somehow spent most of my career in the video games industry, of which I love its creativity and the fact that most of its people are there for other reasons than the usual rational ones to take a job like wealth and status.
Definitely more of a morning person, although I find the occasional 2am inspiration frenzy to be one of the best feelings.
My brain-diet is a mixture of blogs and podcasts, journalling, therapy, meditation and psychedelics.

Seb Cater
Group Head of M&A
Whilst sounding (and acting !) very British, I spent all of my childhood overseas - born in Thailand, raised in Hong Kong & Sydney but attending boarding school from a relatively young age gave me an early and valuable exposure to different cultures & perspectives. I have worked in Financial Services my whole career and have loved the variety it exposes you to - ultimately companies of all types need to have some interaction with finance. Latterly I have been in leadership roles in M&A, which is an exciting, albeit challenging, role to fill as it gains a lot of attention, is high stakes, but allows me to think positively about the future & (potentially) do something meaningful. Proudly married and father of three young children; 4.5, 3 and 1.5 yrs.

Abbey Mawby
Legal Officer, United Nations
I grew up in the snowy mountains in Australia, and have lived in New York and Europe for work across the last ten years. I’m an early riser, and love a day that starts with the sunrise. What I love most about international human rights law is the connection to different cultures it facilitates. In my down time, I’m a reader, skier and enjoy getting close to nature.

Geoffrey Zabell
Product Owner and Founder
Born & bred in Toowoomba (QLD), I’m currently based in Brisbane. Early bird. In strategy and product development. I’m constantly balancing technology, strategy and design practices to get new products into users hands. What fills my cup? Espresso.

John Scott
Research Fellow (Physics)
Born in the United States and raised in Australia from an early age, I developed a love for both the ocean and experimental physics, the latter evolving into a career. Now working at the University of Sydney, I design and develop nanostructures to guide, manipulate, and deliver light to neurons tagged with optically active biomarkers. Beyond my research, my curiosities extend to history, where I do most of my recreational reading (and listening). As for where I’m happiest: playing uncle to my niece and nephew, surfing, sailing, or running electromagnetic wave simulations... All make strong contenders.

Tim McGavin
Managing Director & Founder
I'm the Founder and Chairman of Laguna Bay, an agricultural fund manager operating across Australia and New Zealand. I grew up on a sheep and cattle property in Western Queensland, and that deep connection to the land has shaped my 35-year career across investment, agribusiness, and sustainability.
What I love most about my work is partnering with great people to build high-integrity businesses - enterprises that regenerate landscapes and create real, lasting value.
I'm an early riser, both by habit and necessity, and I find my clearest thinking happens before the sun comes up.
To fill my cup, I spend time with my family, take to the skies in my P210R, and stay grounded by being in nature.

Barry Wood
BMath (CompSci)
I grew up in central Alberta, and moved to Ontario for university. I have a degree in mathematics/computer science, 5 patents, and work that I’ve done is in every 4G base station on the planet. I am widely travelled. I am currently retired, and looking to keep my mind challenged and flexible. I can be both a night owl and an early bird, though these days I prefer a predictable routine when I’m home. I do some woodworking, and read as many different things as possible.

Howard Goodman
Multi-career retiree
Multi-career retiree: management consulting, robotic/graphic software, paint manufacturing, at-home dad, elected school trustee. I took a degree in Engineering Science because it was the closest that I could find to a reality-based philosophy program (not a big fan of extrapolating from questionable premises). Devoted to the practice of "Collegial Disagreement", I'm currently somewhat obsessed with identifying the minimum set of basic concepts that citizens need in order to maintain a healthy robust democracy that can effectively address challenges.

Zoe Matties
Program Manager at A Rocha Canada
I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I work with an environmental non-profit managing our local programs. I love that my job lets me get outside, that I get to dream up programs that get others outside. I love that I get to do work that I find meaningful. I'm not sure that I'm a night owl or an early bird. If I didn't have to get up for work, I'm sure I'd like to stay up later. But it also feels wrong to waste my morning in bed when I don't have to be up for work. I am an avid reader. I love to escape inside an interesting story.

Christopher Goddard
Strategy Consultant
I'm based in London working as a Strategy Consultant, so I've had the chance to work with a range of some of the worlds most successfully and innovative companies which I've found fascinating. I used to be a night owl but I've trained myself to be an early riser which was of the best decisions I've made - nobody can take the mornings away from you! Although I decidedly less cool. Playing guitar to my 12 month old son is bringing me a lot of joy theses days - can't beat the feeling really.

Beatriz Machado
Customer success & Operations at Otter
I’m from São Paulo. I really enjoy new challenges, I tend to get bored without them. I’m somewhere between a night owl and an early bird, although I do find it hard to wake up in the morning. What energises me most is being able to hyperfocus on something. At the moment, I’m reading about women who are diagnosed with ADHD later in life, as well as topics like twice-exceptionality and giftedness.

Georgia Macmillan
Textiles & Wallpaper Designer
I grew up in country QLD and have lived in Dubai for more than 12 years with my husband, two children and our menagerie of rescue animals. As a former broadcast news journalist, I deeply value and cherish our expat life which has been the most extraordinary cultural education about the Arab world and the myriad ethnicities which call this part of the world home. Given our close proximity, we frequently travel throughout the Middle East, Europe, Africa and beyond and aim to visit at least one new country each year. An avid swimmer, I am early to rise and enjoy training and competing in ocean swims across the UAE.

Huw Thomas
Founder & Director Starling Search Consultants
I grew up in West London and have lived in Sydney since 2010 which was supposed to be a 2 years stint! Half my family is from the UK (Wales and England), the other half via my Aussie Mum is in Australia and we have cousins, a sister and nephews in the US too so an international family. I have always been interested in other ways of thinking and doing things, travelling and seeing how different societies and cultures work and would much rather be travelling and seeing the world than working but alas, bills. In my professional life I have a business in executive search focusing in non-bank real estate debt lending, which is fundamentally meeting people for coffee, understanding what they want to do, then delivering it. I like horses, reading, and have a special interest in remote islands and isolated communities and how language, ideas, folklore and songs travel through time.

Sushil Rungta
Former Corporate & Tax Attorney
Past: Corporate & Tax Attorney
Present: Bookworm, thinker, writer, and wanderer.
Future: No clue. Aunt Jemina borrowed my crystal ball and never returned it!
Originally from India; I’ve called San Diego home since 1995. Up at the crack of dawn like a rooster, but refrain from crowing lest I wake up fellow housemates and neighbors. Endlessly curious about the human mind and what makes people think, feel, and act the way they do. On a never-ending quest to understand people but barely scratched the surface of this fascinating topic. Nothing inspires me or energizes me more than meeting and connecting with people at a deeper level. I also have too many interests and typically, my 10 fingers are stuck in at least 16 pies at the same time.

Leah Proehl
Computer Science Major
I’m a computer science student with a love for building things that actually work: efficient web applications, clean databases, and technology that makes life a little easier for people. I’m endlessly curious, which means I’m usually learning a new tool, pulling apart a tricky problem, or experimenting with whatever framework has just caught my eye.
I’m originally from the Midwest in the US. I love the flexibility of my work, even though I’m a night owl who secretly wishes she was an early bird. I fill my cup by spending time with friends, good conversations, and anything that sparks creativity.

Daniel O'Connor
Electrician
Originally from Ireland, lived in Oz for almost 15 years. Currently in Sydney. I’m an electrician, I like the physical aspect of my job and typically working in big groups which generally creates a fun environment. Travelling fills my cup whether it’s staying with a family in Guatemala for a month to try and learn Spanish or staying with an old couple on top of a Kyrgyzstan mountain or most recently scuba-diving in islands near Papua New Guinea.
It fills me with energy meeting people from different parts of the globe.
I’m certainly an early bird.I love making the most of everyday, but also with my job I normally start work at 6 am or 6:30 am.

Ewan Norton-Smith
General Manager APAC at EH2
Studied Philosophy. MD for a technology startup. Early bird (kids). Fishing, hiking, surfing and reading all fill my cup.

Benjamin De Worsop
Sales at Gladstones Granite and Marble
I’m from Melbourne, I used to work as a robotic engineer at a medical drone startup and now joined the family business. I love trying to grow the business, and all of the challenges, growth and strategy that come along. I was also about to try building a house but prices are looking a bit scary at the moment. I’m an early bird that loves playing sport, writing, and being with nature.

Lindsay Marean
Software engineer
I'm a Potawatomi woman living in Eugene, Oregon, USA. I'm in my 5th year as an embedded systems software engineer, having been a public school teacher for 5 years and then a linguist focusing on indigenous language revitalization for a decade or two after that. Helping to carry my Potawatomi language forward is my primary passion, but I also like playing music with people and writing songs, and recreating outside.

Lucinda George
Growth Associate at Triald
I am from Brisbane and moved to London for a fresh start and the opportunity to travel around Europe. I moved with my 4 best friends from university and my partner of eight years into a house and it has been so fun exploring London. I work in growth and partnerships for EMEA at an Australian fin-tech company and my favourite part of it is the day to day meetings I get to have with partners who see the value and want to help their customers at the end of the day, it’s rewarding whilst having meaningful conversations. I am both a night owl and early bird unfortunately it depends what exercise I have planned around how I schedule my day (perks of mid-20s). I fill my cup by seeing my friends, any form of exercise (however I particularly enjoy yoga, pilates, running, cycling and recently the gym). I am a yoga instructor too so I try and find new ways of practicing and exploring what my body is capable of.

Jamie Scott
Enterprise Account Executive at Vercel
I'm from Sydney and an early bird by nature. I love introducing innovative technologies to solve modern business challenges and outcomes. To fill my cup, I spend time with my wife and daughter, play golf, exercise, and have recently been getting into YouTube deep dives on investing, cycling, and other outdoor activities.

India Bell
Founder at Tuesday Foods
I grew up in Brisbane and now live in Sydney. I love being active in the outdoors and connecting with people. My background is in shopper marketing but now I’m more curious in gut health in children. I’m loving my role as a mum to my two boys and hope to keep creating. I’ve turned into an early bird and indulge a little too much in coffee. My cup is full and hope it continues to widen.

Alan Jones
Curious Human
I'm from Vancouver Canada. I love most about what I do which is being a curious human. I'm an early bird, versus a night owl though these terms are relative. It is a privilege to be able to spend a lot of my time thinking and trying to understand myself, and the world I live in. Being physically active is an important part of who I am.

Camilla Belton
Writer and Creative Director
Early bird these days! I'm a writer and creative director from London, with a background in design journalism. I currently work as a creative director for NewsCorp which is surprisingly suited to this time in my life. I also have a side business – Writing for Design – where I write copy for designers, architects etc. I have three kids but am finally coming up for air and able to do more things for myself.

Nile Séguin
Podcast Host, Actor/Writer/Stand-up
Originally from Ottawa and now living in Toronto, I value flexibility in my work and the freedom it gives me to be creative. I’m very much an early bird, although it keeps getting earlier with age and I suspect I’ll eventually come full circle and become a night owl again. Filling my cup these days often means deliberately taking time off. It once felt uncomfortable after years of telling myself I should be working six days a week, but I now find it genuinely restorative. A turning point for me came from actively seeking out actual good news and reading about the real progress being made across science, health, and society. That shift challenged narratives I had long taken for granted and eventually led me to start a good news podcast as a way of sharing a more hopeful, grounded view of the world.

Ben Davidson
Father/surfer/bartender/carpenter/mystic/entrepreneur
I have lived in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for the past 14 years and tended bar for about 12. Proud father of three young children. Bartending has allowed me to work with and serve the wonderful and terrible, the rich and poor, the articulate and the daft. People say never talk politics at the bar. I say lets talk like adults.

Jae Lubberink
Growth Marketing Manager at Eucalyptus
My name is Jae, I'm from Northern Rivers in Northern NSW, I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics as an undergrad at UQ and moved to Sydney in 2023 for work. I spent three years in Australia’s leading think tanks across economics, politics and energy policy research. I then ran my own boutique consultancy servicing clients across think tanks, parliamentary offices, government, startups, climate tech, VC, philanthropy and political strategy, communications and creative strategy agencies, including Superpower, Fractal Capital, Encour, Centre for Independent Studies and Sentiment.

Babette Bensoussan
The Decision Making Maverick
I am semi retired, with a passion around good decision making. I am a co-author of numerous business books, an ex adjunct professor, a strategy and competitive intelligence consultant, board director and currently a life leadership and business coach. Fascinated by how our biases get in our way for whatever goal one has. I tend to be a night owl - years of studying at night!
I fill my cup by talking/being with friends, learning something new and above all expressing gratitude every day for what I have.

Samantha George
Key Account Manager at Tesla
Hello! I grew up in sunny QLD in a little family bubble of beach and family. and surprised myself with the curiosity and courage to move far and wide. I love cars and sustainability, and don't believe that the fossil fuel industry is the way to power private transport, and found myself joining Tesla in 2017 and haven't looked back... Well until this year when I challenged that Elon Musk's reputation some how reflected poorly on me as an individual - something that I actively separate. I have since lived in Auckland and now find myself in Sydney, a city I believe is great for a balance of a "high performing or climbing career", but also the lifestyle benefits of the beach. I am definitely a morning person, often regarding my mind as a closed shop after about 6pm. Filling my cup looks like a phone free weekend and sitting on the quietest beach I can find in the sun to read a book, followed by a home cooked meal and cards or board games with friends. Never misses.

Chrissy Boylan
Yoga & Movement Educator | Writer
I’m a 53 year old Gen X cisgender woman, wife, mom, writer, yoga teacher, reader, and thinker. Sometimes I think books and ideas are my best friends, despite happily designed a life around my family (my husband of 28 years our three young adult kids), my yoga community, my friends, etc. I’m neither a night owl nor early bird…sweet spot is closer to10:00am-2:00pm! I love teaching yoga because there is always something new to learn and because it forces me to move my body to balance out the number of hours I sit either reading or writing. I am particularly drawn to abstract concepts and how they interrelate, like physics, complex systems, contemplative sciences, evolutionary or cultural biology, nature, etc. but also love reading literary fiction. But for good measure, I also love dad jokes, puns, and legitimately formulaic, low brow television series. I’ve got range! The connective tissue is curiosity…podcasts, books, email newsletters, YouTube videos, you name it. :)

Diana Ward
Retired Teacher
I'm in Enderby, in British Columbia, Canada. I am a retired teacher. The first half of my career was mostly in music and the second half teaching English language learners from around the world. They were international students as well as immigrant and refugee students. I loved how it made me look at all things from very diverse perspectives.

Ayesha Valliani-Robertson
Consultant (Strategy, Policy, Law)
Having lived across multiple countries and continents, my work thinking through the legal, geopolitical, and cultural forces that shape our lives is deeply linked to my upbringing. What draws me to this work is that each project, crisis, and client brings with them a whole new set of people, stories, and assumptions to untangle and make sense of. I do my best thinking early (very early) in the morning, and the ideal place to do so is on my bicycle riding along by the sea.

Paola Piccino
Fractional CMO
I was born in Napoli, South of Italy. And grew up in Puglia (even more South of Italy!). The best part of being a Fractional CMO is facilitating strategy workshops for my clients. Definitely a night owl! I am 100% Mediterranean, lover of Africa and India. I swim in the ocean, better if with friends.

Catherine Fae
Public Librarian
Previous attorney, currently a public librarian in VA and I'm in love with everything about my job. I spend my days (and nights) contemplating ways to create spaces, opportunities and methodologies to foster and facilitate connection, starting with conversation. My current experiments are in public, parallel play interactions, to build positive nervous systems memories and build from there.

Ailsa Sachdev
Digital Comms Strategy
My name is Ailsa. I’m Indian and have lived in Dubai my entire life. I work in digital communications strategy, which I enjoy for the critical thinking it demands - mundane tasks tend to drain me. I’m also, unapologetically, a sleeper; if it were up to me, I’d sleep early and wake up late. To fill my cup, I recharge by listening to rock music, swimming, and reading; especially keeping up with the Booker prizes.

Anne-Line Giudicelli
Facilitator and problem-solver
I'm French, but with a mixed background including Vietnamese and Spanish heritage... I've felt at home in the Australian melting pot for more than 20 years now. I have a diverse professional background too - with a first career in the private sector, doing project management and consulting... then a stint in peace and conflict studies and mediation. At the moment, I work in public policy, and I teach compassionate (or non-violent) communication with my partner Ben in Canberra... What I really enjoy is working through issues with people to understand all points of view and find solutions that work for everyone. Definitely night owl. Bush walking, cuddles, reading with my daughter, playing music, dancing, good laughs and interesting conversations... so many things to enjoy in life!

Frances Msuya
Retired Civil Servant and Serial Seeker of... Something or other
I now live in Glastonbury, uk. I have lived all over the uk, originally from Birmingham. I am retired, but my jobs have ranged from research scientist to senior civil servant, but none of them have gripped me if I’m honest. I’m a loner who likes all sorts of people, and don’t fit completely into most groups. An early bird who reads and thinks and makes things and tries to help people. Still learning!

Anna Berry
Marketing & Events Manager
I’m originally from Brisbane, Australia, but now live in London, where I’ve been for almost 12 years. In 2025 my husband (also from Bris-vegas) and I welcomed our first child. If there’s one thing that has truly made me think again (in a good way), it’s becoming a mum, constantly forcing me to reconsider some fairly rigid beliefs about how things are or should be.
My professional background is in PR and communications, having spent much of my time in the UK managing accounts for major Fast Moving Consumer Goods brands. In the year leading up to my mat-leave, I took a professional gap year of sorts, working as events manager for a Green Michelin-starred restaurant in Mayfair, and loved reacquainting myself with the buzz of hospitality.
I’m a card-carrying early bird who often has to remind myself that, as a 35-year-old grown-ass woman, being awake past 8 pm won’t result in a scolding for missing ‘bedtime’. My number one cup-filling activity is an early morning swim at the Hampstead Heath Ladies Pond, now less frequent but more treasured since my daughter arrived. In small pockets of time between child-rearing, I’ve taken to watching moments of human brilliance, things that take only minutes, but leave me thinking, god, aren’t people amazing.

Imogen Kranz
VP, Marketing Programmes (EMEA) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management
I’m a 34-year-old Australian living in London with my husband and our one-year-old daughter, who has completely transformed the way I see life, relationships, work and the idea I once had of ‘purpose’. Since becoming a mum I’ve had a reckoning with my own influences and experiences, whether it’s been my mum’s journey navigating adolescence during apartheid in eSwatini and South Africa, or the sudden loss of my father a decade ago. I solemnly confess I don’t know much, but if I were to be an authority on anything it would be that connection, dialogue and humour will always prevail.

Elizabeth Kavanagh
Primary Teacher
I am a primary teacher from N. Ireland living and working in Barcelona, Spain. I love the amount of sunshine here and the warmer weather. I love the variety in my job and how I am constantly made to challenge myself and want to provide the best examples to my students. I am a home bird, preferring to spend time with my husband, two dogs and cat. I try to fill my cup with the little joys and pleasures I encounter during my day.

Tim Dean
Philosopher, author and facilitator
Resident philosopher at The Ethics Centre. Former science journalist and editor. I love connecting with people, helping them reflect to uncover the unseen, engage with it critically, and direct their new wisdom towards living a better life and creating a better world. Definitely a night owl. Cup is filled by understanding things better, then sharing that understanding with others.

Julia Ahern
Branding Consultant
Where am I from... it's not a simple answer! My parents are originally from Brisbane, but I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I spent the last 8 years in London, and have just moved to Dubai with my husband. I am incredibly grateful to have called a few different places home already, but a few things that make bring me joy no matter where I am are discovering local traditions, eating local food and letting the newness of somewhere sink in. Then, nesting in a new home- I'm a homebody at the end of the day!

Rebecca Mills
Strategist at Frost*Collective
I'm from sunny Sydney. I love the people I work with and chasing the 'uh huh' moment. Not an early bird nor a night owl... but I have a baby alarm clock, so maybe both? To fill my cup I enjoy stepping away from baby world and reconnecting with beautiful friends. Do you know that having a single friend who you know you could call at 3am in a crisis is worth the equivalent of having $12,000 in the bank - in terms of the feeling of security it offers you. WILD.

Jesse Richardson
Founder and CEO of Kitted Thinking Tools and The School of Thought
I’m based in Brisbane. I’ve spent the past 20 years persuading people to buy things they probably didn’t need, and now I’m doing my best to balance out my ethical karma by putting those same skills to better use.
These days I’m the founder of The School of Thought International, a US-based non-profit that provides free critical thinking resources to anyone who wants them - more than 30 million people so far, in seven languages (which still surprises me!).
Most of what I do now involves collaborating with academics, researchers, authors, and designers to create critical thinking resources that are published under Creative Commons licences and used in thousands of universities, schools, and organisations around the world.

Keerthi Lanka

Shweta Apte
UX Researcher at Quillbot
I'm Shweta, born and raised in Mumbai, India. I am an early bird. At 17, I left Mumbai to pursue my undergraduate degree in Industrial Design. After that, I spent four years in Australia, where I completed my master's and worked as a service designer. Now, I live in Toronto, Canada, and lead UX Research at QuillBot, an AI writing tool that helps users, especially those writing in a second language, refine their writing.
My work directly impacts product development, and as someone who also operates in a second language at work, I deeply relate to our users' needs. It’s fulfilling to contribute to a product that makes writing more accessible and effective. Beyond work, I love creating things with my hands. Drawing and illustration have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and in recent years, I’ve taken up crocheting and pottery. Lately, spending three hours every Sunday throwing pots on a wheel has been my favourite way to fill my cup.

Bakul Bhattacharya
Civil Service Aspirant | Curious Thinker
Hi, I am Bakul, an Indian, living in Calcutta. I am aspiring to sit for the Indian Civil Services examinations, which recruit the top administrative machinery of the Indian government. I am a night owl, and it has some surreal advantages, including getting some crazy ideas after midnight. Most of the time these ideas feel almost divinely gifted. I previously worked as a Junior Research Fellow at a university in English literature. My research focused on Mahatma Gandhi’s English writings and how they influenced Indian society and helped shape the roadmap of the Indian freedom movement, including among Indian communities abroad.. Besides aspiring to serve my fellow countrymen through policy making, I am deeply interested in AI, technology, spirituality, health, thought processes, and understanding how the best thinkers in the world think. To me, how we think and what we think ultimately shape who we are.

Every project is different and it comes with a unique set of challenges. I'm definitely a night owl.
I fill my cup by riding through less-traveled paths with my gravel bike.

Rupert Ballinger
Founder and Podcast host
I’m from a sheep and cattle station near Muttaburra, out in the Queensland bush, school by radio, distance always part of the landscape. I now live on the sunny coast.
What I enjoy most about my work is building bridges. Today, I help sell cattle stations to investment firms in Sydney; connecting rural assets with institutional capital and I also host a podcast, The Cosmic Cowboys, where I get to explore ideas, stories and voices that span outback life, innovation, identity and what it means to belong in a changing world.
I’m an early bird, mornings still feel like home after life on the land.
To fill my cup, I step outside. A quiet walk, time in the bush, a surf or simply sitting under open sky; those moments reset me, remind me of where I came from and where I’m headed.
