Howard's Share: the Power of Regret

From Howard: Pink provides a sensible (and to me novel) way of thinking about the types of regret and the potential value and harm associated with different types of regret.

Welcome Howard and thank you for a fantastic first share! I found the concept of “toxic positivity” really interesting, I’d never really thought about it before, nor about the idea that we should actually embrace negative emotions!
I particularly enjoyed the 4 categories of regret Pink highlights:
Foundation regret - “If only I’d doen the work”
Boldness regret - “If only I’d taken the chance”
Moral regret - “If only I’d done the right thing”
Connection regrets - If only I’d reached out
But my absolute favourite insight of the whole episode was that if you know what people regret most you also understand what they value most. So true and powerful!
