I thought this was a VERY interesting conversation. There is A LOT in here but I won't say too much as I'm keen to hear what you think!
One moment that stood out was when the host (Anderson) points out how unhelpful it is to divide people into pro-tech and tech-sceptic camps. There’s real value in being deeply excited by what’s possible, “to hold a passionate belief in the possibilities”, without being blinded to the risks.
I found Altman to be very calm, collected, confident in all his responses. I share with him the idea that society will (eventually) figure out how to get technology right, even if we make big mistakes along the way. Read "Enlightment Now" by Steven Pinker if you need convincing of this or if you have doubt about what we can do as a society :)
Embrace it with caution, not fear" also really resonated.
Lastly, I found it incredibly refreshing to hear a conversation that didn’t shy away from awkward or direct questions & answers. Worth a listen.
The below narrated analysis is also very interesting if you want to reflect a bit more on the interview and the themes that emerge. (the automated voice is a little strange/annoying at first, but you get used to it because the analysis is quite good)
