Leah's Share: 10 wonderful examples of using AI for good

From Leah: I am quite harshly anti-AI. But the purpose of this community is to expose yourself to other perspectives and trains of thought so I decided to go hunting for an article that could challenge and/or expand my thinking, which led to this Harvard article. What I found interesting about this endeavor was that this article helped me refine my own thoughts while still affirming to me that it is on the whole being used incorrectly. AI is being used to detect cancer and analyze large samples of beehive data, but it is trying to be marketed to the world as a search engine. What if instead of being used for art and homework, AI was more widely known for these uses? The other factor of course is that all of these uses are capable of being locally hosted on servers as they are not public services but private endeavors, meaning that these uses don't require the data centers and the damage they bring with them. Overall, I found this an interesting experiment and hope that some of you may find similar in value in it.
