Is it ok to do the right thing for the wrong reason?

If you’re just after something light and easy, I recommend this one. The 2 questions I enjoyed most thinking about from this episode were:
Does motivation matter if the outcome is positive?
If someone donates to charity for tax benefits or volunteers to boost their resume, should we care about their true intentions, or is the good deed itself enough?
How do we judge moral actions by intent or by impact?
Should we assess morality based on what someone intended to do, or should the actual outcome be the deciding factor? For example, if someone helps another person only to gain social status, does that make their action less virtuous?
I started off thinking, "how on earth are they going to speak for 30 mins" when the answer seemed so obvious to me. But they do really get you hooked and make you think about it from a variety of perspectives. Love these episodes!
