From Imogen: Anything Esther is going to pique my interest and ignite thoughtful inspiration in me. But I particularly loved the quote “humanity is bigger than gender” when discussing whether men today are emasculated. This narrative is so important and we need more honesty and a truth bomb when it comes to gender wars… today’s polarisation is so unconstructive.
Absolutely LOVED this talk, thanks for sharing Imogen! I totally share Esther Perel’s sentiment around social atrophy. This is the reason I started this group!
Her views and analysis really apply to all realms of life (not just romantic relationships!) and actually once again I found the title to be very limiting. So much more is discussed.
This one thing that really made me think again was what she said around honesty;“I think honesty sometimes is extremely caring and at other times can be very cruel. It cleanses you and it destroys another person.” I had never looked at it this way and yet it seems so obvious now that she pointed it out!
