Here's how to share AI's future wealth

This article wasn’t the easiest read, but I’m glad I stuck with it. It stretched me and gave me a lot to think about.

One idea that really resonated was the concept of predistribution: the idea that instead of waiting to fix inequality after it happens, we could build fairness into the system from the beginning. Making sure more people have a real chance to participate and benefit before the outcomes are even decided.

I also found myself reflecting on the ownership of AI’s future wealth. Should the enormous economic rewards of AI mainly flow to those who create and invest in it, or could we imagine models where society more broadly has a stake? One idea that stood out here was shifting from just giving people income to giving them assets; something that grows over time and offers real ownership, helping people build lasting financial independence rather than relying on short-term support.

Finally, I appreciated the glimpse into real-world initiatives and experiments happening around the world. It was a good reminder that we don’t have to start from scratch: we can build on what’s already being tried.
