Fireside chat with Parkrun founder, Paul Sinton-Hewitt

I found this talk so inspiring! I stumbled across it while researching grassroots initiatives that began with just a handful of people and went on to become global movements (I was just curious…!).

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Parkrun is a free, weekly community event where people of all ages and abilities can walk, jog, run, or volunteer. It takes place every Saturday morning in parks around the world. Sound familiar?

There are so many parallels between Parkrun and what I imagine for Think & Think Again.

I was particularly struck by how Paul Sinton-Hewitt, the founder, talks about its beginnings; how it came from a very personal place, something he simply wanted to do. And when he talks about the feeling he gets after those runs; “I’m on a high all weekend!” I couldn’t help but laugh. Remind you of anyone?

As one of the first members of this community, I hope you feel as inspired as I do by what Paul has built and encouraged to help create something just as meaningful, in our own way.

This left me feeling hopeful, energised, and more certain than ever that what people need is more community, more connection, and more shared experiences.
