Thank you for sharing this talk in a previous comment Monica, I loved it so much, I wanted to share it with everyone who perhaps missed it in your comment a couple of weeks ago.
In his company, Bob Chapman doesn’t talk about “winning”, instead he says, go out and play your position well for your colleagues. Do it for each other, for the good of the whole company. So simple, so inspiring.
Honestly, it felt like Bob was giving Simon a bit of a lesson this time (in the best way 😂). What a leader.
One part that really stuck with me was his take on schools: we’ve turned them into factories for technical skills, not human skills. Yet listening with empathy, being fully present, or having an honest confrontation are all teachable. In his company, they actually run programs on how to be a good listener and how to tell someone when something is hurting you, and invite them to help.
It made me reflect on how much of our society is built on individual success, when what we really need is collective success.
