From Ayesha: Not to skirt the rules by citing a book, but Ian McEwan's latest novel is a masterpiece and a must-read for anyone looking for reassurance that the ever-changing, intense, sometimes incomprehensible world we live in still contains meaning and connection in ways that haven't really changed over time: a beverage with friends, listening to music or opening a crisp new book with your children, sharing stories, cooking meals, swimming in the sea. What was most enjoyable about this book was its attentiveness to the charm of the everyday in the 2020s, and how that attentiveness serves as a quiet counterpoint to the 2120 dystopia McEwan so vividly portrays. We can preserve magic and community; we simply have to be a bit more deliberate about it all.

Ian McEwan is a great author, thanks for sharing!
