Alicia's Share: Gender Expert: Men Are Emotionally Dependent On Women, We're Treating Them Like Malfunctioning Women

Updated: Jan 20

From Alicia: As a woman, I have often overlooked concerns about male identity and the meaning of modern-day masculinity. This interview got me asking questions I'd never thought to ask before (and I do ask a lot of questions, so that's saying something!) While I don't agree with everything that was said, it showed me a new angle on humanity and gender norms, which I have normally looked at through a more feminist lens. And while everyone has biases, I appreciated Richard's acknowledgement of his own blind spots and his efforts to stay objective. Most of all, I enjoyed the conversational style and the two presenters' comfort with leaving some questions unanswered, simply as musings.

I can't access the full paper but here's a little addendum contesting the idea that women are more risk-averse than men, at least in a work setting.

Oh interesting findings!! Goes to shoe that you should always see the broader context of certain research conclusions, the relationship (or lack of!) between cause and effect, Thanks for sharing !!
