From Ailsa: Living in the Middle East, I was particularly struck by the sentence: “We monitor the situation out of a deluded belief that we are more than just passive, confused bystanders to a spray of digital shrapnel.” It showcased that my generation’s - and particularly my own - compulsion to stay informed may not just be useless, but also feeds our delusion of awareness equals agency in the digital world.
